Living Trust Package

Estate Organizer with documentsFollowing are answers to commonly asked questions about the Lawrence J. Robertson, P.C. Law Office Living Trust Package. Answers to these questions are provided here for your convenience, and to enable you to compare our services with those of other attorneys.

In order to enable clients to balance the cost of a revocable living trust versus the cost of probate or conservatorship/guardianship proceedings, Lawrence J. Robertson, P.C. Law Office offers flat-fee, package prices on living trust estate plans. That way, you know exactly what cost is involved before you decide to have work completed. Our package price includes the following documents, when applicable:

  • A Revocable Living Trust Agreement which eliminates probate and the need for guardianship proceedings in regard to all assets transferred into the trust; and

  • Customized letters which provide all necessary instructions and information to your bank, stockbroker, insurance agent, IRA custodian or other such people or institutions where assets are located. These letters enable you to have all assets transferred into your trust by simply filling in the blanks with pertinent information; and

  • Personalized service with the attorney, so that all questions are answered and help is provided, with no additional cost. This service is included with the package price for a period of at least two years after your trust is signed; and

  • Pourover wills which insure that all property is transferred to the chosen beneficiaries, even if an asset is not transferred to the trust during lifetime; and

  • Durable Powers of Attorney which allows a spouse or anyone else of your choice to sign documents and handle affairs for you. This document is particularly helpful if mental or physical disability prevents a person from managing his/her own affairs; and

  • Living Wills and Durable Powers of Attorney for Health Care which gives directions to physicians and family members regarding choices of treatment to get you well again, or continuation of life support systems in the event of severe illness, or if you cannot communicate with the doctors; and

  • A large three-ring binder organizer and DVD which contains all necessary documents and directions regarding procedures to follow if someone becomes incompetent or if there is a death. Various other informational documents are also provided, along with forms which can be completed regarding where assets are located, wishes for memorial services and any other information which you consider to be pertinent.
  • The first consultation with any client regarding estate planning is free of charge. After the initial meeting, if a living trust is appropriate for your situation and if you decide that a living trust is desirable for you, we will explain the fee prices. By the end of the initial meeting, the attorney will verify which package would be appropriate for your situation and explain the fee associated with that package. No work will be done for the client until a firm price is quoted and agreed on.
